These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services and website provided by Northbound LLC operating as Northbound Tutoring ("Northbound Tutoring," "we," "us," or "our"), a Maryland limited liability company.

By using our website or enrolling in our services, you agree to these Terms. If you are enrolling a minor child in tutoring services, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian with authority to bind the minor to these Terms.

Our Services

Northbound Tutoring provides online math coaching and tutoring services for middle school students. Our programs focus on developing strong problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and confidence through personalized instruction.

Sessions are conducted via live video conferencing with experienced tutors who create customized lesson plans based on each student's goals and skill level.

Enrollment and Commitment

New families enrolling in our programs begin with a minimum initial commitment period to allow time for establishing routines, building rapport, and demonstrating meaningful progress. After the initial commitment, enrollment continues on a month-to-month basis.

Specific program details, pricing, commitment periods, and enrollment terms are provided during the enrollment process and outlined in your enrollment agreement.

Parent/Guardian Consent

When enrolling a minor child, parents or legal guardians agree to:

• Provide accurate enrollment and contact information
• Ensure the student has appropriate supervision and a suitable learning environment during online sessions
• Encourage consistent participation and completion of assigned work
• Maintain respectful communication with tutors and staff
• Authorize us to communicate regarding scheduling, progress, and program matters

Parents have the right to access their child's progress information and educational records at any time by contacting us.

Billing and Payments

Our programs operate on a subscription basis with automatic monthly billing. Payment is processed securely through Stripe using the payment method you provide during enrollment.

You are responsible for maintaining valid, up-to-date payment information. If payment fails, we will attempt to contact you and may suspend services until the account is current.

Monthly payments are non-refundable once a billing cycle begins. This policy protects reserved instructional time and preparation work.

Cancellation

Families may cancel enrollment according to the cancellation policy outlined in their specific enrollment agreement. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to support@northboundtutoring.com.

You remain responsible for payment through the end of the current billing cycle or any applicable commitment period.

Rescheduling and Attendance

We understand that scheduling conflicts occur. Our programs include reasonable flexibility for rescheduling sessions with advance notice, subject to availability and program-specific policies.

Specific rescheduling terms, including advance notice requirements and monthly allowances, are outlined in your enrollment agreement.

Privacy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your family's privacy.

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Intellectual Property

All content, materials, and instructional resources provided through our services are owned by Northbound Tutoring or our licensors and protected by copyright laws.

Families receive a limited license to use materials solely for the enrolled student's personal educational use. Materials may not be copied, distributed, or used for commercial purposes.

Limitation of Liability

Our tutoring services are educational in nature. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes, test scores, or grade improvements, as results depend on many factors including student effort, prior knowledge, and consistency of participation.

Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months immediately preceding the claim.

We are not responsible for interruptions caused by internet service issues, power outages, equipment failures, or other technical problems beyond our reasonable control.

Conduct and Termination

We expect all students and families to treat our tutors and staff with respect. We reserve the right to terminate services immediately for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Abusive, threatening, or disruptive behavior
• Fraudulent activity or unauthorized payment use
• Non-payment after reasonable notice
• Any conduct that harms our staff, other students, or program integrity

No refunds are provided for termination due to violation of these Terms.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Before pursuing formal dispute resolution, we encourage you to contact us to resolve concerns through good-faith communication.

Any legal action related to these Terms shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date and notify active families by email at least 14 days before changes take effect.

Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
